WELCOME to WINCHESTER RIDING CLUB!

~

WINCHESTER RIDING CLUB organises competitions, training and events for people who own their own horses in the Winchester area.

Our Next Event . . .

HUNTER TRIAL at DENE FARM on SUNDAY 20 MAY - Click here for times.

Times have been allocated to Classes 1, 2, 3, 4a, 4b and 5.  Class 6 will start at approx 14.30 and Class 6 will start at approx 1500.

Please note Class 4 has been split into 2 classes and these will be marked separately.  This is to allow for the handover of jump judges and so those who are there all day can get some lunch.  Jump judges, scorers, traffic, warm-up arena, etc, have ALL volunteered so we can run this event for YOU on Sunday.

PLEASE do NOT leave YOUR HORSE'S POO for our Volunteers to pick after a long day.

Fingers are crossed the weather will be good to us.   Look forward to seeing you all on Sunday

Kind Regards, Louise, HT Organizer and Chair of WRC

WINCHESTER RIDING CLUB aims to cater for all horse owners who ride mainly for pleasure.  It is not affiliated to the British Horse Society and does not become involved in team competitions or training for BHS or other Riding Club tests.

WINCHESTER RIDING CLUB has over 200 members living and keeping their horses in the area 18 - 20 miles from Winchester.  Members range from children to older adults and the club caters for all abilities, from very novice riders to professionals, with equal enthusiasm.

WRC was founded in 1988 as a campaigning group to maintain and promote the network of bridleways in the Winchester area and has grown to become one of the most successful Riding Clubs in Hampshire.

During the year WRC holds about 100 different events covering a wide range of equine activities.  We have an enthusiastic committee who work hard to ensure that each event is well organised and the atmosphere is welcoming and friendly.  We aim to offer something for everyone, so our programme is both comprehensive and diverse and includes:

  • Frequent, regular instruction at popular venues in dressage, show jumping and cross country
  • Competitions (members only and open)
  • Non-competitive events, eg, fun rides
  • Talks, trips and visits
  • Social events

If you are a member, you'll also receive our excellent bi-monthly magazine which gives details of future events and training, a full update of all club activities, reports on recent events, a What's On of local horsy events, advertisements, national and local information of interest to members and special offers for members.
